About
I grew up in southern Vermont (with one adventurous year out in California) and have always felt most at home surrounded by nature. My childhood was full of babbling brooks, mossy trails, and long afternoons collecting stones, bits of pottery, and sea glass. Even now, whenever my family goes to the shore, you can usually find me wandering the beach with my eyes on the sand, looking for small treasures.
I’ve always loved working with my hands—painting, drawing portraits, making digital art, cooking, gardening—there’s something about creating that quiets my busy mind. In 2021, after a year of solitude during Covid, I decided on a whim to try silversmithing, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Now, I love blending metals and textures to create jewelry that feels personal to each wearer.
The name Wading Bird Jewelry comes from the hours I’ve spent near the water’s edge. Wading birds have always felt symbolic to me—strong yet calm, adaptable, and graceful as they move between air, land, and water. The two-headed loon in my logo is a nod to my Gemini side—duality, curiosity, and transformation all wrapped into one.
I make each piece by hand in my home studio in southern Vermont, surrounded by gardens, chickens, two dogs, and a cat—a setting that keeps me endlessly inspired.
Although my creations have a rustic charm, I focus on ensuring that each piece of jewelry is built to last.
