About
Growing up in Southern Vermont, with the exception of a year spent in California, I've always been surrounded by nature's beauty. My childhood was filled with the soothing sounds of babbling brooks and the enchantment of forest trails. It was during these explorations that I discovered my passion for collecting stones and water-worn pottery or glass. Even now, whenever my family goes on vacation to the shore, I find myself walking along the beaches, searching for hidden treasures.
Working with my hands has always brought joy and fulfillment to my overactive mind. Whether it’s painting, drawing portraits, creating digital art, or even cooking and gardening, I've always found solace in the act of creation. In 2021, after a transformative year of solitude due to Covid-19, I took up silversmithing on a whim—and I’ve never looked back. Now, I enjoy blending metals to create unique pieces for each wearer.
The name Wading Bird Jewelry holds a special significance for me. It’s a tribute to the countless hours I’ve spent vacationing by the water’s edge. To me, wading birds symbolize both fierceness and tranquility. They represent peace, transformation, and the grace with which they navigate through air, land, and water—much like how I view the balance of all life elements. The two-headed loon in my logo is also a nod to my Gemini tendencies, symbolizing duality and adaptability.
I create my jewelry from home in southern Vermont, surrounded by nature, gardens, chickens, two dogs, and a cat—an environment that continues to inspire my craft.
Pricing
Each piece is handmade and one of a kind, crafted with care using quality materials. Prices reflect the cost of materials, a modest hourly wage of $27 for skilled artisan work, and a small markup to sustain my craft.
Sterling silver is a precious metal—hypoallergenic, long-lasting, and more expensive than brass.
Brass offers a warm, gold-toned look at a lower cost but may require more maintenance over time.
No matter the material, every piece is designed and made by hand, with love and intention. You're supporting slow-made, meaningful jewelry—made to last.

Although my creations have a rustic charm, I focus on ensuring that each piece of jewelry is built to last.
